Problem is the movie will almost certainly paint Ghosn as a hero, when really there are only villains here.

What, so the idea was they let him get away with misappropriating finances until it was convenient to sabotage him? Seems like a stretch to me. More like they were looking to boot him,and found an excuse.

How was he a villain? He saved Nissan from bankruptcy in the end of 90's. He orchestrated the creation of one of the biggest auto groups in the world by binding together two middle pack automakers. He also orchestrated the return of the GT-R and the Z and the Alpine brand. AND he got Renault back to F1 and Nissan back to Le Mans(but let's not talk about it).

It's not like he was the only one. Many CEOs get bonuses and benefits, they shouldn't be getting. But it's just an unwritten rule, tacitly approved by both high ranking executives and mid management who aspire to become top management.

I’ve seen nothing to indicate that he’s innocent of the crimes he’s been accused of in Japan. Some indications that those crimes probably would have been ignored had he not been a foreigner making unpopular decisions, but aside from Ghosn himself I really haven’t seen anyone claiming that he didn’t do these thing.

Top executives in Asian corporations (and big corporations in general) are known to be guilty(proven or unproven) of some kind of financial misconduct. Nobody is truly innocent. It's something that just happens in this world.

I’d save the term for people who do really bad things. What Carlos is accused of doing, especially when put in balance with his positive actions, barely qualifies as bad.
